About the Role:

Work alongside our Community Operations COE Leadership team and own the implementation of on-the-ground Learning and Development programs at the COE. This multi-faceted role requires quick thinking and proficiency in leading a team of Learning specialists, responsibilities include:

  • Develop L&D strategy, and own execution of learning program through performance monitoring, coaching, and motivating team members
  • Develop, and maintain new and existing learning programs within the centre of excellence
  • Lead COE Learning TL’s to motivate, empower, and drive strong performance across Learning KPI’s
  • Supporting your team to build and execute on detailed learning plans
  • Build and maintain tracking to analyze the quality and effectiveness of the learning experience
  • Continuously improving the Learning and development program to bring the function in line with industry leading standards


Our Community Operations Managers and Community Support Teams are built upon the foundation that is laid during the learning and onboarding time. CommOps is all about process efficiency, and as a Learning and Development manager, you would be ensuring that these teams of rockstars are able to continuously provide world class support to everyone involved in the Uber experience. This role is about building a solid foundation for our COE Learning programs, scaling it beyond what is today, and pre-empting what it will need to be tomorrow.


What you will Do:

  • Learning and Development strategy: Create and execute on Learning and Development program strategy, in line with industry leading standards
  • Team Leadership: Lead the people and administrative functions for the COE Learning program
  • TL Coaching: Motivate, manage, and engage Learning Team lead I's to help them become effective leaders
  • Overall learning program co-ordination: Working with COE Operations stakeholders, understand learning needs, and co-ordinate a learning program to fulfil needs.
  • Performance management and reporting: Create tracking to monitor and drive COE Learning metrics. Providing insights and action plan recommendations
  • Process implementation and change management: Effectively execute and communicate to the Learning and Operations team processes and changes to ensure understanding and compliance
  • Stakeholder management: Build relationships and provide insights for improvement to management and senior leadership
  • Project management: Conduct initiatives and experiments to improve Learning for the site or dedicated lines of bu

Job Requirements

  • Clear communicator: You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate actionable insights
  • Explorer: The ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data we require will make you much more effective in this role. Self-starter attitude is a must!
  • Balance attention to detail with swift execution: We need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength
  • A high bar across the board: From your own contributions, to the people you work with, to the products you work on
  • Ability to work with remote teams and across time zones to develop strategies and foster a cohesive and creative work environment
  • Exceptional problem solving skills, strong google sheets / Excel / data management skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • 5+years of operations management/general management/ support experience
