Job Description
UI/UX Designer position is an IT position with cross-departmental responsibilities. You will be working with numerous areas throughout Ace potentially inclusive of Merchandising, Marketing, Store Operations, Finance, and Retail Support. The primary responsibility is to help the business partner envision what they are requesting. A high degree of collaboration with IT BA’s, Architects, and Development team members will be required as well. Stakeholders include a wide range of individuals inclusive of application owners, sponsors, and potentially Ace Executives.
- Conceptualize business requirements and “package” in an effective manner that provides end-user insight as to overall usability and presentation of what the business is requesting.
- Own and execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
- Creation of wireframes, mocks, user flows, and/or prototypes.
- Collaborate with Ace business partners, product owners, and both software and technical engineering.
- Establish, maintain and grow strong working relationships with Ace business partners and other IT functional groups.
- Work with engineers to implement the design, including testing and QA support of the builds
- Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of proven UI/UX experience
- Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio
- Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and process flows
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design and wire-framing tools
- Ability to present designs and ideas to various stakeholders
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Current knowledge of the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Previous web or mobile development experience preferred
- Proficiency in front end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping preferred
- Experience with C# preferred, but not required
