Job Description
Main Responsibilities
Perform market research to help identify new investment trends and opportunities
- Deal Screening: call and/or meet with prospects, evaluate opportunities.
- Documentation: summarize call notes, meeting minutes.
- Network with peers in the ecosystem.
Perform Due Diligence
- Gather information from the target company and industry experts.
- Research and talk to existing references and customers of the target company.
- Research potential competitors to the target company.
- Discuss and review with the general manager the evaluation of the target companies.
Operational Duties
- Monitors events of the ecosystem and prepares calendar for such events in coordination with EdVentures Team
- Manages any indoor and outdoor activities of the VC.
- Maintains operational systems and processes including internal communication, documentation and quality assurance in coordination with EdVentures.
- Implementing and maintaining procedures/office administrative systems e.g. Book keeping, attendance taking, track recording, collecting applications, calendar management, etc
- Organize induction programs for new companies and startup teams and other internal event.
Job Requirements
Skills and Qualities:
- Bachelor’s degrees in business, finance, economics or marketing.
- 1-2 years of entrepreneurship or investment experience (VC, investment banking, private equity, accelerators, or incubators)
- Outstanding analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and self-motivated
- Working knowledge of financial statement accounting and analysis.
- Advanced Excel modeling skills including advanced function, and familiarity with PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and Arabic.
