Job Description

Since 2016, growing number of Korean experts and volunteers have been play their roles in Egypt. In order to provide more proper service for the safety and security of our staff and Korean workers in the field, KOICA Egypt office is preparing to improve the protocol for safety and security management.

This job is for Egyptian nationals only.

Contract Period

1 year with 3-month probationary period

(Contract period can be extended according to the performance evaluation)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary focal point for safety and security for the Office;
  • Develop and update safety and security management plan for the Office;
  • Provide technical support to the staff and personnel in the field in the following areas:
  • Security/risk assessment
  • Security plan development, scenario planning
  • Crisis/contingency plan

Other security-related functions;

  • Provide advice and counsel to management on matters relating to employee and property safety and security;
  • Develop and facilitate security and safety training for the Office;
  • Perform field surveys on the site where KOICA volunteers are to be dispatched;
  • Monitor security conditions and liaise and coordinate with external agencies – UN, local government, etc.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferable if in International Relations, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Administration or related area or ability to demonstrate a work-based equivalent)

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years implementing security programs and a strong knowledge of security management in complex environments;
  • Preferable when an applicant
  • Has some familiarity with other donor agencies procedures;
  • Has experience with private security companies and contractors;
  • Has experience conducting training for small groups;
  • Has comprehensive knowledge of regional and national security issues;
  • Has demonstrated an understanding of complex emergencies, related security concerns and appropriate responses to such emergencies;
  • Has communication skills for explaining complex security concerns, policies, protocols, and procedures to senior management, employees and consultants

Skills:

  • Written and spoken fluency in English required;
  • Good at using Microsoft suites (Words, Excel, PowerPoint, etc);
  • Able to plan, execute and continuously improve her/his work independently and/or in close collaboration with colleagues
