Job Description

  • Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is implementing a five-years skills development programme. It is an initiative in collaboration with Aga Khan Foundation (Egypt), Aga Khan Foundation, Canada, Global Affairs Canada and local partners in Aswan Governorate. Aswan Skills Development Project (ASDP) focuses on strengthening the quality and range of vocational and technical training programmes, as well as providing professional development trainings to young women and men in Aswan Governorate.
  • The ASDP aims to improve the knowledge and services provided to young women and men as they transition from education or under/unemployment into training and from training to work or entrepreneurship. ASDP is building a new model of technical vocational training, through national and international partners’ experience. In addition, ASDP is networking and creating partnerships with governmental bodies such as Ministry of Manpower (MoM) and Productivity Vocational Training Department (PVTD) in order to adopt the new model.

Position Objectives:

The CEC/CDC Officer will assist beneficiaries with the process of making career decisions, by helping them identify appropriate career path and relevant training programmes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small group counseling based on beneficiaries’ needs.
  • Help beneficiaries set realistic career goals and develop a plan to achieve them.
  • Work with beneficiaries to develop skills, such as organization, time management, and effective work ethics and habits.
  • Evaluate beneficiaries’ abilities and interests through aptitude assessments, interviews, and individual planning.
  • Refer beneficiaries to work, training and/ or internship opportunities and resources.
  • Provide information and assistance on career development, career search, job placement and matching services activities.
  • Network and build work relations with employers to identify required employment skills and available job opportunities.
  • Work with Quality and Accreditation Department in developing training curricula and related materials based on needs.
  • Based on the plans, deliver CEC various’ courses in and out of CEC facilities and the 2 satellite centers.
  • Coordinate and supervise trainees’ work integrated activities.
  • Participate in curricula review committees.
  • Work with OHF Communications and Marketing team to promote CEC courses and trainings.
  • Provide necessary technical support to the 2 satellite locations as required.
  • Perform other operational activities/initiatives as needed.
  • Provide logistic and admin support, as needed.

Job Requirements

  • University degree (bachelor's degree), with 5 years of progressive experience in continuing education and training services.
  • Experience in career counselling services.
  • TOT certification is required.
  • Background in IT is also an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to provide feedback and reporting to the Management.
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple tasks, demands and deadlines with a positive and constructive attitude.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism and thoroughness.
  • Fluent in Arabic and very good command of English Language.
  • Ability to work in flexible working hours.
