Fabrication Engineer

Role and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings to workshop foreman and technicians.
• Review manufacture-ability of drawings provided and propose better fabrication methods.
• Manage all communication with foreman/technicians and ensure efficiency of all fabrication process. Resolves fabrication issues efficiently.
• Investigates discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Clearly identify root cause of repair/rework and implement effective countermeasures.
• Work within 5S methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard Calculate workspace requirements and design strategies to utilize the workspace effectively.
• Plan and direct layout of equipment, workflow, and assembly methods, in conjunction with workshop foreman.
• Estimate consumables (welding electrodes, gas cylinders, cutting discs, etc) required for project and request from inventory.
• Estimate required cycle time for processes, allocate technicians for processes and help project planning team to develop fabrication schedule.
• Ensure compliance to project schedules and report progress to project management.
• Ensure all personal protective equipment is identified, always available, correctly used and all associated problems are reported to management.
