Mechanical Designers

• The Mechanical Designer is responsible for doing detailed machine, sheet metal and structural design as well as general plant and equipment layout work.
• Qualified candidates must have a degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of SolidWorks Or Pro/Engineer design experience.
• Candidates with knowledge in mechanical design and conveyor systems.

Responsibilities for the Mechanical Designer

• Responsible for completing project designs and detailed drawings under the supervision of the project engineer and project manager, as required for customer orders.
• Consult with engineers and managers regarding materials, specifications, and design criteria to ensure drawings and layouts are developed per customer and system requirements.
• Interpret complex engineering specifications and apply those specifications to the design of components and sub-assemblies using sound design principles, creative and independent judgment.
• Generate accurate detailed drawings in Pro/Engineer or SolidWorks software, and completed in a manner consistent with company design guidelines and industry standards.
• Communicate with vendors to gather necessary information about parts and applications, and provide the detailed information to the purchasing department.
• Design and coordinate the fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
• Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
