Job Description:

  • The Soft Skills Trainer/Instructor will assume responsibility for the facilitation of soft skills training offered by Locked-In Careers. He/she will follow the prescribed curriculum/calendar of activities that are designed to develop the soft skills of clients/students.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates day-to-day classes to equip clients with the necessary knowledge and soft-skills needed to secure employment opportunities.
  • Conducts classes in an atmosphere that promotes caring and respect in accordance with the Mission and Vision of Locked-In Careers.
  • Plans organize and administer the prescribed curriculum to clients with the support of the Locked-In Careers management team.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of employ-ability skills, teaching materials and procedures with a clear understanding of the various learning styles.
  • Understands the needs of and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations.
  • Instructs clients in job seeking, application procedures, resume writing, interview preparation, and job retention skills and attitudes.
  • Provides job search/career information workshops and presentations as needed.
  • Facilitates career counseling, evaluation, skills training, job readiness training and other activities related to employment transition for clients.

Job Requirements

  • Maintains a genuine desire to please customers and satisfy any issues customers may encounter.
  • Regularly goes above and beyond what is expected to deliver service to customers.
  • Drives accountability for customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and demonstrable command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to present, demonstrate, and show expertise with differing audiences, varied from no experience to subject matter experts.
  • Previous classroom training experience.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards others and can adapt their communication style to suit the situation.
  • Credible because they do what they say they will do.
  • They make decisions based upon what they believe is right, not necessarily what is popular.
