Job Description
- Providing Global IT support for Vodafone Enterprise & Web Applications for all branches of Vodafone Companies around the world.
- Maintaining the availability of the applications and their hosted servers
- Performing all possible technical troubleshooting steps to solve the problems and service requests
- Managing all system components including apache, Squid, and GIT.
- Managing VMWARE environment.
- Developing scripts to automate system activities
- Monitoring configuration
- Troubleshooting & facilitating the Infrastructure and connectivity issues remotely for the countries (DNS,Proxy, Firewalls)
- Utilizing the existing team applications and tools (knowledge base, Documentation database) to solve the incidents
- Ensure that the technical solution and root cause are clear and logic
- Prioritizing and managing several open cases at one time based on agreed Service Levels
- Ensure that all incidents are solved within the agreed SLA
- Update the technical documentation and the team knowledge base.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering / computer science
- 5-6 year IT Support, system administration, web/software development experience
- ITIL Foundation background.
- UNIX/Linux administration
- Technical knowledge in IT infrastructure technologies (DNS, Proxy,LDAP) and connectivity techniques
- Routing/Load Balancing strong knowledge
- Strong Knowledge on Cryptology and CA ,SSL,TLS
- Strong knowledge in apache/Squid Configuration
- Strong Knowledge about RDBMS
- Hands on experience on all VMWARE products (VSphere, VCenter ,ESX ,ESXi , VSwitch)
- Hands on experience VMware Perl API
- Very Good development skills using PERL Scripting
- Strong Knowledge on Revision control systems like SVN,GIT
- Strong Knowledge on Nagios/Icinga management and configuration
- Remedy background is a plus
- ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
- Strong Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Strong Conversational English skill both oral and written
- Very good analytical thinking skills
- Handling different tasks
- Understanding of the communications web methodologies
- Good communication skills specially in a multicultural environment
- Working under stress, Dynamic and Customer oriented
- Decision making skills
