Job Description
Senior System Administrator
The Senior System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users.
- Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
- Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
- Create and verify backups of data
- Respond to and resolve help desk requests
- Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
- Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
- Review application logs
- Install and test computer-related equipment
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
- Perform Weekly report for infrastructure status.
- Perform Health check for infrastructure on daily basis.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
- Extensive experience with VMware vSphere.
- Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues.
- Ability to respond to help desk requests and incidents.
- Solid Knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS.
- Solid Knowledge Microsoft Windows, Linux OS.
- Must have: Firewall experience, Specially Fortigate.
- Nice to Have: Microsoft SQL DB, Oracle DB
- Must have experience in End Point Protection, like Symantec End Point.
- Solid Knowledge about networking, CCNA is must.
- Solid Knowledge about Backup SW.
