Job Description

Role synopsis:

Support the Engineering and Maintenance Team by providing Static Mechanical Engineering technical support for West Nile Delta operations.

Key accountabilities:

  • Perform or review of complex or non‐routine ME (Mechanical Engineering) calculations and analyses.
  • Provide support for high risk discipline‐related MOCs (Management of Change) or deviation requests to discipline technical practices
  • Participate in the design review and the execution for small projects & modifications.
  • Participate in the ME expertise to support Fit for Service barrier evaluations, gap closure plans and improvements
  • Provide ME technical input and review of complex, non‐routine engineering procurement packages (e.g. critical valves, pressure vessels, process heat exchangers)
  • Provide technical support to Maintenance team to support the procurement/ use of certified materials
  • Identify opportunities for safety improvement, optimization and risk reduction across Region.
  • Support hazard identification and risk assessment studies associated with revalidations, small projects, or modifications for existing assets (e.g., MoCs, HAZOPs, LOPAs,
  • HAZIDs, Human Factors Analysis and What‐Ifs).
  • Conduct self‐verification on key operations and procedures as required
  • Ensures Mechanical Engineering risks are understood controlled and continuously reduced to deliver safe operating results.
  • Support and participate in Group ME Discipline COP (community of practice) meetings and sharing lessons.
  • Perform stress analyses when required using CAESAR software.
  • Support site integrity team when required.

Job Requirements

Essential Education:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Essential experience and job requirements:

  • Candidate must have a Mechanical Engineering Degree.
  • Candidate must have Operations and Engineering experience in Hydrocarbon gas industry (at least 8 years of experience)
  • Candidate must be knowledgeable with all relevant codes and industry standards for Pressure vessels, Storage tanks, Piping and Valves.
  • Candidate must have previously performed minimum wall thickness calculations manually and through software.
  • Candidate must be familiar with Fit For Service methodology as per API 579 in addition to relevant repair standards
  • Candidate should have Integrity Management basic awareness; can interpret inspection reports etc…
  • Candidate to be familiar with working in a multidisciplinary team

Other Requirements (e.g. Travel, Location):

  • Frequent travels to site
