Job Overview

As part of the Early Stage Markets team in the UAE, you will be responsible to grow our B2B presence in Abu Dhabi by engaging with corporates to acquire new users, grow number of rides and close deals with partners for business and personal rides. In this role you will be expected to identify and onboard key accounts in each of the markets and collaborate internally to improve the service offering. In addition, you will be building strategic partnerships in those cities that would lead to customer acquisition and growth with the support of the central Partnerships team.

You will be working in close collaboration with the Head of Sales UAE, Assistant General Manager, and the local supply and demand teams.

Reporting

The role directly reports into the Assistant General Manager of UAE - Early Stage Markets with a dotted line reporting to the Head of Sales UAE.

Responsibilities

  • Key member of the UAE ESM team, owns the strategic sales plan for all early stage markets in the UAE, particularly Abu Dhabi, that expands Careem’s customer base and ensures its strong presence in these markets
  • Design the strategic sales plan, timeline and targets in coordination with the UAE Head of Sales and the AGM of UAE ESM
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets in relevant markets
  • Lead negotiations with corporates and build and promote strong, long-lasting client relationships by forming a partnership with them and understanding their needs
  • Build a strong understanding of market opportunities, performance levers, and dynamics to develop list of priority companies to approach and relevant offerings to provide
  • Take ownership of sales in those markets and take lead in understanding the challenges and address the opportunities to strengthen Careem’s market presence
  • Identify key strategic partnerships in ESM markets and build the partnerships with the support of the central UAE Partnerships team

Key Performance Indicators

  • Strong understanding of business objectives and metrics and ability to build action plans to meet these objectives
  • Ability to own and achieve sales targets
  • Ability to generate leads and close deals for sales and partnerships
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with key stakeholder allowing a strong foundation for growth in each market
  • Ability to manage dedicated budget and recommend action plans accordingly
  • Flexibility to explore new ways of approaching sales and business development based on market opportunities and dynamics to achieve a wider impact
  • Close collaboration with both demand and supply teams to achieve growth targets
  • Structured approach to reporting on leads, sales progress and target tracking

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Skills required

  • BS/MS degree in business administration or a related field
  • Strong sense of ownership; takes the lead in understanding the business needs, identifies necessary action plans and challenges how things are done
  • Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and regional understanding and ability to negotiate with corporate stakeholders as needed
  • A strong track record of developing and maintaining highly collaborative relationships
  • Analytical; able to understand key metrics, monitor them, and lead improvements and conclusions accordingly
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively
  • Agile and collaborative team player who finds a way to make things happen
