Job Description

  • Responsible for carrying out the fabric finishing process.
  • Responsible for carrying out systematic checks / updates with the technical committee to update them on technical and procedural aspects for all batches.
  • Implements and maintains the safety program in the production departments of the location.
  • Maintains a constant vigilance for safe and healthy working conditions of employees. This includes responsibility for maintaining a high standard for housekeeping practices.
  • Makes employees aware of job hazards directly and through subordinate supervisors and hourly leaders.
  • Ensures proper safety training of employees and compliance with company safety rules and procedures.
  • Leads and directs the production activities for the production departments for the location across all shifts.
  • Clarifies and coordinates tasks and provides individual coaching and support needed to keep team committed to achievement of defined goals.
  • Assumes an important role in resolving production problems.
  • Supervises up to 6 Production Supervisors, Leaders and production personnel (approximately 75+) to ensure maximum production and quality levels for all plant equipment and operations in accordance with production plan.
  • Audit processes for fabric quality issues and non-conformance to departmental and company policies.
  • Collaborate with employees and managers to solve work-related problems.
  • Follows up and/or solicit ideas and suggestions from direct employees on methods to improve processes, including safety, and quality.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Monitor performance to department goals and communicates with employees.
  • Perform periodic department inspections and utilize all resources (people, equipment, materials and the facility) to provide a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping, for all employees.
  • Documents/communicates safety problems and assures resolution.
  • Supports efforts by the company to strive for continuous improvement.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Recommends replacement of existing equipment as needed and follows up on action performance against estimates. Accumulates costs and statistical data on major repairs and assists in long range planning.
  • Partners with the Human Resources to ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement in areas such as overtime and seniority and works to resolve employee grievances in a timely and equitable manner.
  • Partners with the Continuous Improvement Manager and is a facilitator for Continuous Improvement implementation.
  • Works closely with Quality Manager to establish a consistent process for the application of quality improvement.
  • Works closely with the Maintenance and Engineering Manager to ensure all reliability initiatives and maintenance programs are met.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by direct management.

Job Requirements

  • Residents of 10th Of Ramadan city will be given priority.
  • 1-3 years of textile dyeing / finishing experience.
  • College degree preferred. Relevant work experience in Textile Dyeing and Supervision will be considered as a substitute of a degree.
  • 2-7 years manufacturing experience, including leadership of production teams with knowledge of plant operations and processes
  • Prior manufacturing experience with knowledge of plant operations and processes.
  • Must be able to work 6 days a week and some time work on Friday when necessary.
  • Successful track record of supervision and team experience a plus.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated process improvement using lean concepts.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills (MS Office applications).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Management style and focus must be consistent with a safety, people focused and continuous improvement environment.
