Job Description
- Visit fashion retail stores or/and textile showrooms to keep up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colors, and shapes.
- Attend fashion shows and review garment magazines and manuals to gather information about fashion trends and consumer preferences.
- Study fashion trends and anticipate designs that will appeal to consumers.
- Decide on a theme for a collection.
- Identify target markets and demographics for designs.
- Write worksheet that includes specifications like color schemes, construction, material types, and accessory requirements.
- Visit manufacturers or trade shows to get fabric samples.
- Select fabrics, embellishments, colors, or style for each garment or accessory.
- Present design ideas to the creative director or showcase them in fashion or trade shows.
- Work with other designers or Production Planning Department to create a prototype design.
- Oversee the final production of his/her designs to identify potential development areas.
- Contact with the Sales Department and Merchandising Department about every seasonal ratio depends on (colors, Sizes, materials and all variables)
- Follow up with the Production Planning Department about all the designs and its latest status.
- Transfer every Original sample to a ProtoSample.
- Contact and share with VM Department about the different idea(s), such; the theme of the collection and its preparations.
- Prepare a detailed report of the finished item(s).
- Brainstorm with all the Fashion Team to organize and manage the sample inventory, ensure appropriate samples that are passed, and brainstorm.
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor degree in fine arts or relative.
- 0-2 years of related experience.
- Excellent Computer Skills.
- Photoshop skills.
