Project Control Engineer - Construction

The Project Controls Engineer’s role is to maintain, safeguard and possibly improve on the Project budget and time schedule. His responsibilities include:

• Producing the initial budget report for the Project, including all design, construction, administration, permitting and other costs from information obtained from the Employer and Consultant team.
• Producing a detailed time schedule for the Project, including all design, construction, testing and commissioning activities, and taking into account the major milestones identified by the Employer.
• Participating in value engineering to identify potential savings to the Employer.
• Financial Analysis of design and construction tenders to ensure comprehensiveness, identifying possible areas for cost saving, and providing recommendations.
• Reviewing Bills of Quantities and identifying any possible discrepancies.
• Taking part in negotiations with potential Contractors.
• Reviewing Contractor’s interim and final payment applications and issue of relevant Payment Certificates.
• Evaluating Contractor’s variation claims and issue of the necessary Variation Orders.
• Reviewing and monitoring Contractor’s time schedules and regular updating of the overall Project time schedule to reflect any modifications, recovery schedules, etc.
• Reviewing and monitoring Contractor’s drawing and material procurement/tracking schedules to ensure that all drawings and materials are approved and available on site in good time to meet the time schedule.
