Job Description
- Responsible for overseeing the entire development process of new products and programs within an organization, from the initial planning phase to implementation or production.
- To keep track of all the costs related to the creation of these new products and decide what ideas are worth pursuing.
- Informed on what is happening in the research and development field at large in order to make sure the company is up-to-date and current with the most advanced R&D developments
- Having a keen ability to pay attention to details is important, in addition to closely supervise every step of the development process for new products.
- Provide specification and product evaluation.
- Provide assistance on quality issues and look for root causes for continuous improvement.
- Provides vision and inspiration on product and architecture development
- Manage information resources and technology to generate product ideas.
Job Requirements
- Understands the broader business drivers, with the ability to work collaboratively with key functional areas both inside and outside of the company
- Highly integrated leader with ability to inspire change throughout the company
- Experience of prototype development and early life cycle of the products
- Experience in capture planning and management
- Experience of developing research strategies
- Understanding cost control and measurement metrics.
- Leadership and managerial skills are also important in this role, as well as the ability to communicate well with colleagues and customers across all levels .
- A strong sense of creativity will also aid in the process of thinking of new product ideas and solving problems creatively.
Experience
- A minimum of 4 years experience in the same position
- Experience in managing a team of researchers is a must.
