Job Description

  • In early 2018, Drosos Foundation Egypt has approved the funding of “Women In Agriculture” project.
  • The project is managed and implemented by Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) in Aswan under the Rural Development Programme.
  • The project will be implemented in two of the poorest areas in Aswan 0Governorate, Kom-Ombo and West Aswan.
  • The project aims to scale up the agriculture activities and the number of female beneficiaries in both of the above mentioned areas, in order to support women with their increasing economic hardship and enable them to participate in economic activities.

Overall objective of the position

  • To provide technical and managerial support, mobilize community human resources and help in conducting baselines, researches, trainings, building relationships with programme partners, and sharing programme impact and lessons with the project partners and CSOs.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and lead project implementation.
  • Efficiently and timely delivery of all training courses and project’s activities.
  • Ensure that the plans, targets and success indicators align with the implementation.
  • Develop project’s semiannual action plans, budget and donor’s report, in coordination with the Senior Programme Manager.
  • Provide verbal and written progress reports to the SPM as needed.
  • Track the project’s budget expenses against the burn out rate.
  • Conduct regular meetings for women agriculture committees and women facilitators of the targeted villages.
  • Develop the selection criteria for women household to implement both rooftop and kitchen gardens.
  • Prepare all female facilitators’ contracts, payments and other expenses.
  • Coordinate and implement the project awareness seminars, women household selection and the needed consultants for women target groups training, in coordination with the project’s staff.
  • Attend and follow up on the women committee’s meetings and their training.
  • Maintain strong relations with the Agriculture District Department in both Kom-Ombo and Aswan.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completion of the target groups data entries.
  • Asses project outcomes, in coordination with the M&E specialist.
  • Any other additional task that might be required.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. Holding a Master degree is an advantage.
  • Not less than 5 years of experience in Agriculture.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in non-traditional cultivation in a community development environment.
  • Working experience in the area of rural communities.
  • Very good in using Microsoft and internet.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Innovative and excellent problem solving skills.
