Job Description

Position Summary

The Creative Graphic Designer leads and produces the design function for the company.

The position is responsible for delivering effective, aesthetic, creative, on-brand, and on-strategy creatives for websites, web pages, product graphics (including art direction of photography), email promotional creative, email templates, social media graphics, and banner ads.

The Creative Graphic Designer reports to the Marketing Manager and works closely with the Technical Manager, Operational Manager, and Business development team.

Responsibilities

General Tasks

  • Develop creative solutions for both print marketing and web initiatives including direct email campaigns & email templates, trade-show graphics, web logos, social media graphics and banners, static and rich banner ads, event promotional marketing, ad banners, dynamically targeted emails, promotional pages, user interfaces (UI) and website content flow
  • Translate product positioning, existing research, and offline/online Marketing strategies into effective designs.
  • Work with e-commerce team and internal and external developers to ensure aesthetics also are aligned with usability, accessibility, and web standards. Work with developers to ensure proper implementation within a web environment and ensure consistency and integrity of the creative vision.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to translate and create marketing requirements into compelling, appropriate campaigns and designs.
  • Collaborate on brand strategy and positioning
  • Lead and contribute to projects in partnership with a variety of designers and marketing specialists
  • Participate openly and enthusiastically in brainstorming sessions and other planning activities
  • Must demonstrate excellent planning, organizational and project management skills
  • Translate wireframes into simple, easy-to-use User Interfaces.
  • Ensure consistency of brand and creative across digital customer touch points.
  • Perform design and graphics production tasks as assigned promptly and efficiently
  • Provide original thoughts and vision to design concepts and creative strategies; willingly offer and accept creative critique of designs and implement best ideas, while also being able to follow brand guidelines
  • Handles design projects from the ground up and works with multiple brands to deliver quality and innovative visuals.
  • Must be willing to wear multiple hats and be flexible to do whatever is needed
  • Provide design support to other business lines to create product graphics, logos, identity design, or other similar offline graphics.

Branding, Design & Marketing Materials

  • Assist in protecting the integrity of the company's brands and all uses.
  • Communicate branding guidelines to promoters and residents.
  • Responsible for creative design and having an extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite- primarily InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in web & digital design, graphic design, graphic communications or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years consumer-oriented design experience in a fast-paced corporate, creative or agency production environment required
  • Strong high-quality creative design proven portfolio of design work, showing the solution to business problems through effective design.
  • Experience in web marketing/web design with a strong knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, FTP, web design and development principles
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, in particular, is required
  • Strong design aesthetic, creativity and the ability to produce brand-specific print and web graphics components under tight deadlines in a high-volume production environment
  • A collaborative mindset that enables cross-functional interaction on a range of web, product or marketing initiatives
  • Deep knowledge with Web design processes
  • Experience designing e-commerce websites or advertising
  • Must have strong attention to detail and possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to proof your own projects, as well as other projects produced by the team
  • Familiarity with Print Production requirements and working with third-party printing vendors and current web and email marketing standards and best practices
  • Must be comfortable working on a Mac platform
  • Knowledge of the Travel & Tourism industry a plus
  • Proficient with HTML/CSS is a strong plus
  • JavaScript experience a plus
  • Copy writing skills a plus
