Job Description

The agents help clients make travel plans. In addition to booking reservations, they assist customers in choosing their destination, transportation, and lodging and inform travelers of passport and visa requirements etc. The agent will be specialize in organizing tours and then selling them to the customer though web and phone channels. This involves creating customized itinerary and provide travelers with timetables and travel literature, compute fare costs and make reservations, and sell tours developed by the CT – Product team.

Job Requirements

Travel experience: The agent needs to have prior minimum 4 years of travel experience in any travel agency handling inbound/outbound customer as direct interface. Excellent knowledge of computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travelling. Communication skills. The agent need to have effective communication skills to listen to customers, understand their travel needs, and offer appropriate travel advice and information. Customer-service skills. When customers need to make last-minute changes in their travel arrangements, travel agents must be able to respond to questions and complaints in a friendly and professional manner. Detail oriented. Travel agents must pay attention to details in order to ensure that the reservations they make match travelers’ needs. They must make reservations at the correct dates, times, and locations to meet travelers’ schedules. Organizational skills. Travel agents should have strong organizational skills because they often work on itineraries for many customers at once. Keeping client information in order and ensuring that bills and receipts are processed in a timely manner is essential. Sales skills. Travel agents must be able to persuade clients to buy transportation, lodging, or tours. Sometimes they might need to persuade tour operators, airline staff, or others to take care of their clients’ special needs. Earnings for many travel agents depend on commissions and service fees. Domain Knowledge: Sound knowledge of domestic and international travel trends Degree in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business or relevant field Personal travel experience will be considered an advantage
