Job Summary
We are looking to hire a senior translator to interpret written pieces in another language, making sure to maintain their original meaning, format, and tone.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reading through original material and rewriting it in the target language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is maintained
- Making sure that the intellectual and structural content of the source language is maintained in the target language
- Using specialist dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used
- Proofreading and editing final translated versions to ensure the quality of the translated material
- Adhering to the Translation Style Guide and following reviewers’ instructions
- Making sure that translations meet the applicable standards through sufficient research, checking with reviewers, good revision, etc.
- Maintaining an ethical code that protects the confidentiality of information
- Following various quality standards to safeguard the legal and ethical obligations to the customer
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, translation and linguistics, or any other relevant field
- 3–5 years of translation experience
- Excellent command of English and Arabic
- Excellent writing skills and command of grammar
