Job Description
- Manages the product development division
- Leads the product development team consisting of engineers, agronomists and product designers
- Manages existing development projects
- Works with other departments to establish a design, technology, product development, and vendor strategy
- Manages project budgets and prepares financial analysis reports for top management
- Sets targets for the division based on the company vision
- Sets and reviews targets for individual team members
- Identifies opportunities for new products as well as improvements of existing products
- Gathers feedback from users and analyzes how a new product ties in with market needs and consumer preferences
- Sets design requirements based on briefs from internal teams and external partners
- Researches and select materials and techniques and vendors and prepares the list of vendors
- Coordinates with external specialist consultants
- Supervises the production of prototypes and tests functionality
- Is responsible for bringing products from the concept design all the way to functioning prototype up to the first manufactured units
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years work experience as a product development manager
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in industrial design
- Experience in agronomy is a bonus
- Experience with electronics and programming is a bonus
- Creativity in mixing up technology, colors, shapes and techniques
- Basic knowledge of 3D modeling as well as design software
- Basic understanding of mechanical design
- Good time-management skills
- Adaptability and full self-motivate
- BSc/MSc in Product Design, Manufacturing Design Engineering or relevant field
