Job Description

Role synopsis

  • Reporting to the Site Manager, the Production Manager position will manage the operations team through the safe operation of onshore and offshore facilities.
  • The role will involve working with the site teams, Projects team and operations support team.
  • The role will also have responsibility to develop the operations team and embed the disciplined application of BP core processes including Control Of Work (COW) and Continuous Improvement (CI).

Key accountabilities

  • Embed core behaviors of BP discipline operations by building on existing resources whilst coaching the development of JV staff to the level required by BP.
  • Audits and coaches production teams in CoW roles/responsibilities to set and maintain the highest possible Control of Work standards.
  • The OTL works with R&M to prioritize and deliver maintenance activities in conformance with WMS, COW and AP practices.
  • Is a key integrator seeking alignment and common focus between multiple teams such as Ops support, subsurface, site teams, and projects who support the WH operations.
  • Liaison with Contract Companies, Project teams and others requiring Control of Work measures to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Provide Input and support for the development of the Operations technician and new hired engineers competency
  • Lead the development of operational management systems (LO/LC register, HP/LP interface register, interlock control, operating procedures etc).
  • Accountable for the development of site operating practices to promote best in class operations.
  • Accountable for ensuring that Operational Risk Assessments are in place for operations that are out of normal.

Job Requirements

Essential Education

  • Proven track record in setting expectations and delivering high standards of HSSE performance.
  • Extensive experience in an operating environment with focus on safe compliant operations and optimization.
  • Extensive experience as an Operations supervisor in an oil, gas, or petrochemical facility.
  • Expertise in daily operation of Control of Work Systems and procedures.
  • Experience interfacing with other disciplines specifically engineering, maintenance, subsurface and project teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable track record and competency in operations and maintenance roles with proven leadership skills.
  • Aware of BP integrity management and process safety requirements, including process control and protective systems.
  • Ability to engage and work with operations personnel, projects teams and contractors / suppliers.
  • Essential experience and job requirements
  • Qualified engineer (BSc. or equivalent) with relevant experience
  • Other Requirements (e.g. Travel, Location)
  • Rotational Position

Desirable criteria & qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Area Authority and Isolation Authority.
  • Experience in coaching the development of JV staff on the job.
  • Practiced in HSSE management, hazard evaluation and risk management.
  • Broad knowledge of operations, turnarounds (TAR’s), maintenance, commissioning and start-up.
  • Readiness Plans and Start Up assurance processes.
  • Experience in Well Handover from Drill to Ops and between Ops and intervention teams.
  • Experience of MEG Gas dehydration/hydrocarbon dew point Gas Turbines, and Centrifugal and Reciprocating Gas Compressors.
  • Subsea systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in difficult and challenging environment.
