Policy Officer - Water and Food Security

Under the guidance and supervision of the First Secretary Water and Food Security:

• Monitoring and analyzing relevant international and national developments and advise on policy and strategy development in the water and food security sector
• Manage the project portfolio (content and financially) including the analysis of the progress reports
• Contribute to internal and external policy and strategy discussion of the water and food security sectors and represent the embassy at relevant external fora
• Build an effective network with the various public and private organizations in the concerned sectors such as the ministries of Water, Agriculture, Planning and Housing, the Horticulture Export Improvement Association (HEIA) and the Agriculture Export Council (AEC). Part of the network will also be the WFP, FAO and IFAD.
• Build an effective network with civil society and private sector actors
• Propose where and when appropriate and appraise new initiatives, supporting the implementation of the embassy’s MASP
• Organize, facilitate and accompany incoming missions from the Netherland
• Prepare (internal) briefing notes and draft speeches
• Responsible for archiving
• Implement any other duty allocated by the First Secretary Water and Food Security, relevant to the implementation of the program of the Embassy.
