Job Description
EDF Renewable:
- EDF Renewables is a leader in the production of renewable energy worldwide. The company develops, installs and operates green electricity power plants, primarily for its own owner-operator account and for third parties. The Egyptian branch of EDF Renewables has 130 MWp photovoltaic power plants under construction and aims to develop further projects.
Scope of position:
- The Asset Manager will represent the sponsor regarding Asset Management activities and implementation of the local organization.
- Main missions will consist of implementing the Asset Management functions,
- Assuming the Asset Management functions for the projects in operation, in collaboration with the local support provided by the different partners involved and their teams, and
- Reporting to the shareholders of the project.
- Reports to: Head of Egypt and functionally to EDF Renewables Head of Asset Management
- Division/Department: EDF Renewables Egypt
- Location: Cairo, Egypt, with trips across the country and in Paris if needed
- Employment Type: Full Time
- Employment Period: 1 year renewable Starting Date: February 2019
- Work conditions: Time spent between the office and away on existing projects, future projects, partner offices, as well as meetings with government agencies and local regulation when required.
Responsibilities:
- Implement autonomous Asset Management department for Solar with Head Quarter support;
- Monitoring the O&M Contract in cooperation with the HQ, and development, engineering and construction teams;
- Play a leadership role in the resolution of problems with partners, customers, contractors and subcontractors, for operating assets; For long term technical problems, assume the management and monitoring of the solutions to resolution;
- Manage and supervise the proper execution of all agreements during operation phase (power purchase agreement, lease, Operations and Maintenance, insurance, finance, guarantee payments, etc.) in collaboration with the other departments;
- Supervise and manage relationships with landowners, government authorities and local communities;
- Ensure full HSE compliance of the projects;
- Manage all financial and budgetary aspects of projects in close coordination with the Finance team to ensure timely delivery;
- Implement and prepare usual Asset Management reporting, operation budgets, reporting on financial variances and production and other ad hoc as required by the project agreements and by the company;
- Supervise and coordinate with Operations & Maintenance group as well as site managers all technical and operational issues;
- Perform, or cause to perform, operational assessments, analysis on the costs of major repairs, financial recuperation and all various analyzes.
Job Requirements
- Engineer’s Degree with complement in business;
- Experience or Business degree with experience in energy;
- Fluency in English required, French is a plus;
- 2 years of experience, experience in construction, operation or administration and management of energy generation projects would be strongly appreciated;
- Knowledge of the routine use of technical terms, commercial agreements, generation processes, and equipment used in the field of renewable energy and of power generation;
- Must have strong commercial skills and working knowledge of contracts, claim management, etc.;
- Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and experience of dealing effectively with peers, subordinates, management and different partners;
- Able to be flexible and adapt to changing situations within the business and organization;
- Able to effectively organize and plan work according to organizational needs;
- Able to work effectively with standard office software;
- Travel Required (mostly in Egypt and occasionally in France);
