Job Description

  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Control purchasing department budgets.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.  Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
  • Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
  • Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs.
  • Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
  • Negotiate purchases of raw materials and components
  • Develop, maintain and optimize relationships with suppliers
  • Monitoring of performance indicators (KPIs) based on objectives
  • Conduct quarterly evaluations of suppliers
  • Ensure the competence of suppliers to meet requirements
  • Monitoring with suppliers regarding non-compliance reports and ensuring that corrections are made
  • Plan and participate with the quality department in supplier audits
  • Optimize, monitor inventory levels (min/max)
  • Participate in production planning meetings  Identify opportunities to reduce costs, prepare cost-benefit analyzes and initiate their implementation following approval
  • Perform other duties as required by the Company
  • Manage a team of one or two buyers

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Relevant experience 10-15 years.
  • Experience with aviation recommended but not ‘‘must’’
  • Experience with SAP preferable.
  • Very good knowledge of Windows environment
  • English oral and written ‘’Good
