Job Description
- Operations Manager will be responsible for all aspects of production to include: planning, organizing, staffing, directing, measuring, controlling and reporting of the manufacturing division of the company.
- Focus on current operational performance and develop/implement processes, procedures, systems, metrics and reporting to support, improve and innovate manufacturing business.
- Accountability to fulfill orders and safety stock on time, increase productivity/efficiency, manage & motivate staff, and oversee/innovate/implement process engineering.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead operations to include manufacturing, planning, engineering, maintenance, safety and implementation of new product line production.
- Manage and evolve policies, programs and projects in respect to schedules, product consistency, quality, safety and labor.
- Oversee maintenance and engineering activities to include both current production as well as planned projects, creating metrics and goals to measure efficiency, cost reduction, productivity and preventative maintenance.
- Communicate with all direct departments associated with production to include Purchasing, Logistics, IT and Accounting to provide an efficient and cost effective business process.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and R&D to create new products, production and timelines from start-up and through business thereafter.
- Coordinate with food safety/quality control department to adhere to and advance all safety/quality standards and procedures. Prepare and maintain standards in accordance with both internal and 3rdparty certifications and programs. Focus on continuing improvement of food and facility safety and product consistency.
- Mentor and develop current staff as well as interview and train new staff to achieve a team with sufficient candidates for promotion and a work environment that promotes communication, ownership of goals, pride and commitment to producing the consistent and best products in their respective categories.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of management experience in semi-automated/automated food production facilities.
- Of which 5 years experience for management and accountability for total food production facilities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, additional business/accounting credits preferred.
- Knowledge and experience about all food safety standards that are customary within the food industry and mandated by government regulations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate plans and goals across all departments of the organization.
