- Read and understand architectural plans, builders features, and vendor inventory reports.
- Consult with buyers to discuss the budget and design / decor preferences.
- Conduct design appointments
- Enter selections into builder database program.
- Design sketches and provide product material for home buyers approval.
- Review selections with buyers prior to contract signing.
- Stay up to date on the latest design and residential construction trends as they pertain to the interior and exterior selections.
- Provide appropriate responses while communicating via email and/or phone calls with home buyers, builders, and the internal company.
- Work with Design Center Manager and Construction team on special requests for pricing and custom options.
- Prepare selections, sketches, and designs for spec homes.
- Organize and maintain interior and exterior selection showrooms.
- Attend sales and project meetings on behalf of the Design Center.
- Maintain relationship with vendors to ensure the samples are refreshed and up to date in the showroom.
- Provide New Sales Counselor training on the Design Center process (quarterly).
Job Requirements
- Experience: 12+ years selling skills in design center, retail design center or equivalency, with a strong focus on management, revenue goals and customer service.
- Candidate must have excellent selling, organizational, leadership and communications skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong numeric orientation required.
- Computer skills required.
- Ability to effectively sell/promote products that contribute to the success of the Home Gallery and foster customer satisfaction.
