Job Description
- Create and maintain PCB component libraries within the PCB CAD (Altium and Eagle) based on manufacturers technical references and datasheets.
- Create and maintain schematic designs using PCB CAD software (Altium and Eagle).
- Design PCB layouts both from own schematics and from schematics generated by other design engineers.
- Export Gerber files and manufacturing documents using PCB CAD software (Altium and Eagle).
- Collaborate with mechanical designers to ensure the integrity of mechanical and thermal design aspects.
- Design, develop and verify electronic circuits.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Undertake multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, managing own time to deliver according to project milestones.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 1+ year( full time) of PCB design experience, and the understanding of PCB layout processes.
- Proficient with EDA software, preferably Altium and/or Autodesk Eagle.
- Technical understanding of printed circuit board design fabrication processes.
- Strong knowledge of SMT and through -hole electronic components and packages.
- Knowledge of PCB stackups and multilayer PCB designs.
- Strong knowledge of test equipment, Oscilloscopes, power supplies, and frequency sources.
- Verify electronic designs by carrying out tests using laboratory instruments, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and other instruments.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical data.
- Ability to write clear and concise technical reports.
- Ability to effectively present information to colleagues and vendors.
- Write clear and concise test and design verification reports based on laboratory measurements.
- Ability to solder through-hole and SMT components.
- Detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with high-speed board design standards.
- Experience with RF circuit designs.
- Experience with high-density ball-grid array's (BGA).
- Experience with microprocessors, RAMs, WiFi modules and eMMC.
- Experience with designing circuits microcontrollers especially STM32 family.
- Experience with PADS PCB Design Software.
- Experience with OrCad Orcad Pcb Designer & Cadence Allegro PCB Designer.
- Ability to interpret mechanical design.
- Comfortable using Autocad or other 2D Mechanical CAD tools.
- Liaise with PCB manufacturers to clarify design requirements and resolve problems encountered manufacturing bare boards.
- Liaise with contract electronics manufacturers to clarify design requirements and resolve problems encountered manufacturing PCB assemblies (populated PCBs).
