Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Handle the planning and purchasing process for local and import food / non food products, and supply purchasing ensuring that all products meet company’s objectives for price and quality.
  • Coordinates delivery and flow of finished goods from different suppliers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review all finish products inventory and reordering the stock minimum level. And plan for the new orders accordingly. (10%)
  • Prepares purchase orders and transmits orders by telephone, fax machine, or other contact to ensure that vendors receive purchase orders on a timely basis. (5%)
  • Schedules delivery appointments on the computer, verifying appropriate time slots for every order to balance the flow of receiving activities, tracing delinquent appointments, and following up on late arriving carriers to ensure GSF receives required products on a timely basis. (5%)
  • Monitors supplier quality and performance in terms of quality, management excellence, cooperation, good delivery time, and technical competency/adequacy. (5%)
  • Coordinates local purchasing activities, negotiates price, schedules delivery, and directs the receipt of goods with external suppliers, maintain or reduce costs, and enhance service and quality. (10%)
  • Maintains contact with all departments to monitor inventory levels and maintain an adequate supply of raw materials, parts, and supplies. Assists in the maintenance of computerized inventory control records, cycle counting, and physical inventories. (5%)
  • Schedules delivery appointments on the computer, verifying appropriate time slots for every order to balance the flow of receiving activities, tracing delinquent appointments, and following up on late arriving carriers to ensure GSF receives required products on a timely basis. (5%)
  • Prepares check requests and forwards to finance. (5%)
  • Establishes and maintains strong vendor relationships, periodically meeting with suppliers to enhance communication, ensure that GSF objectives are well understood, and share performance expectations. (5%)
  • Prepares purchase orders and other reports and documents delineating local purchasing activities; enters data into the purchasing computer system; and maintains up-to- date and accurate document files. Tracks late deliveries, customer complaints, and other quality and supply issues to improve customer service and quality. (5%)
  • Prepare weekly basis the stock status& Critical items reports to maintain the healthy stock. (10%)
  • Monitoring the price trends. (10%)
  • Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary. (5%)

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors degree in commerce, business administration, or accounting from and accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in purchasing and inventory management, logistics, or shipping and receiving.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing setting a plus.
