Job Description

  • To make quality service decisions in regards to keeping service on hold, recommending stoppage of executing a service, etc. Functions as the quality decision makers especially at nights and on weekends when all management is not on site.
  • To provide quality assurance checks for all tools doing calibration inside the laboratory or on site. This includes, but not limited to, checking the equipment and the laboratory for cleanliness, appropriate paperwork/labels to be used in the final stage of undergoing the service. It also includes calibrations within noted time frame and availability of packaging materials plus completing applicable documentation.
  • To execute or participate in internal and external quality audits, as directed by management.
  • To perform quality checks/audits for each job. This includes checking each step of the job until the final step preparing to deliver the equipment to the client. Specific checks are listed on the Acceptance Quality Level checklists.
  • To audit logbooks used in the operation areas for completeness and quality compliance.
  • To perform non-routine/unplanned checking and testing of finished products as applicable. This includes random testing and auditing as per customer request. Performs pre-departure checks as requested by QA Management of the company.
  • To verify information on labels and places secure tags on labels. Issues labels to Laboratory Supervisor (packaging) prior to packaging the equipment.
  • May perform other reasonable, related business duties that may arise.

Job Requirements

  • Understand ISO 17025 requirements for calibration and testing services.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in a standardized situation.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to use laboratory equipment, including balances and scales.
  • Language ability: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals, technical procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of top management/senior managers, customers and the general public.
  • Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only high standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Finally the ability to translate data into an effective plan for reaching company goals
  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, ratios, deviations, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
