Job Description
- Direct and control the staff of the department to ensure that they are appropriately trained and motivated and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.
- Responsible to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of Metrics and Key Performance Measurements for the Area in conjunction to Company measurements.
- Ensure that schedule is completed on time and in full.
- Responsible to ensure adequate steps are taken and employees are held accountable to achieving all KPI’s.
- Enforce Kaizen principles to include 6S.
- Ensure adequate training and cross-training of all employees in assigned area with particular emphasis on Team Leads and potential Team Leads with documented training.
- Oversee all operating processes to ensure that the most efficient and effective use is made of plant and equipment and that safety standards are adhered to.
- Work with management and HR on all employee issues to include attendance and disciplinary actions and insure proper corrective action plans are executed.
- Monitor output to ensure that production meets the established standards in terms of both quantity and quality.
- Maintain regular contact with other departments to ensure that they are aware of production requirements and to identify potential problems.
- Provide advice and support to other departments on production issues.
- Plan, introduce and monitor maintenance and work schedules to ensure that machine downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Responsible for all routine reporting requirements to include, but not limited to, Daily/Weekly production and efficiency reports, overtime requests/justification, area schedules, employee issues, and progress on goal attainment
Job Requirements
- A relevant technical or engineering qualifications : Electrical Engineering background is preferred
- At least 5 years’ management experience;
- knowledge of the industry; detailed knowledge of the plant, equipment and processes used;
- Live close to work location
