Job Description
The VMware Project Manager helps our customers to transform their businesses through the adoption of state-of-the-art VMware solutions. The highly talented and experienced VMware Professional Services Team takes ownership of all technical aspects of customer delivery from the initial gathering of requirements to implementing and testing a solution that meets the customer’s needs. Through close collaboration with pre-sales, product management and engineering, this team builds long term internal and external contacts, ensuring success in our customer’s adoption of VMware’s industry leading solutions.
The Project Manager Graduate will provide support to Project Managers and Senior Project Managers on complex cloud, Network/Security and mobility projects. The role will focus on taking responsibility for many of the Project management administrative responsibilities as well as be actively involved in supporting delivery at all stages of a project.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Collaborate with VMware project teams which could consist of VMware pre-sales architects, engineers, product managers and support staff
- Work alongside and under the guidance of Senior Project Managers in the day to day delivery of complex Cloud and Mobile projects across Germany, Austria and Switzerland according to Agile or Waterfall methodologies
- Assist architects and project managers in design workshops; mapping VMware solutions to the customer’s technical requirements whilst functioning as an advisory resource for “Best Practices”
- Manage the creation, update and distribution of project collateral such as project plans, RAG logs, Communication plans, Timesheets, Project Briefs and scheduled reports
- Ensure project objectives and deliverables for your own projects are fully agreed, documented, supported and agreed by the key stakeholders
- Directly handle clients and internal stakeholders to communicate project scope, status, billing schedules
- Manage project budgets by tracking team time and progress
- Develop long term relationships and trust with clients and colleagues
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS/BIS, Engineering, Science, Economics, Management and Business Administration
- Commercial IT knowledge or software development abilities
- A persistent, self-starter with a track record of success in their academic career to date
- Enthusiastic communication manner, excellent listening, interpersonal and writing skills
- Willingness to learn, with a real passion for all relevant aspects of technology.
- You are a standout colleague who works with integrity to succeed in a high-energy, dynamic environment
- You should enjoy working with leading edge technology and being a key member of an outstanding team
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Existing proven project management experience is a must
- PMP or Prince2 is a plus
- Fluency in English is a must, French is a plus.
