Job Description
- Is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of database to ensure system is up and running maintaining the maximum performance.
- Plans and implements backup and recovery of the oracle database. Keeping the system data confidential according to the business needs.
- Responsible for all Databases maintenance (install, updates, maintain integrity, DB performance, systems logs archiving and optimization).
- Monitors all databases table space, alerts, warning, errors and take the necessary actions when needed.
- Responsible for database backup and recovery tasks.
- Analyzes database logs and audit and identifying potential issues with the servers and storages.
- Performs database and application server’s backups.
- Responsible for database Cluster set up and monitoring.
- Restores Database and systems applications files from backup according to business need.
- Provides technical support to Systems administrators, Application development team.
- Database troubleshooting with the suppliers and coordination BPC for repair.
- Creates the Database regular health check procedures.
- Creates any required reporting requirements.
- Supports systems reporting tools.
- Keeps systems Database performance optimized according to business need.
- Creates all database users, and only needed users for business.
- Maintains all security needed aspects to keep the Database secured.
- Performance database reorganizations as required to assess performance and ensure maximum up time of the database.
- Assist with impact analysis of any changes made to database objects.
- Troubleshoot problems regarding database, applications and development tools.
- The DBA has ultimate responsibility for the physical database design.
