Job Description
Role synopsis
- Proactively interact with other disciplines, Area teams, sub-functions and contractors to systematically resolve problems, applying informed engineering judgment to drive integrated, pragmatic solutions focused on risk management, production efficiency, defect elimination, & standardization
- Ensure Engineering activities appropriately apply BP standards and processes such as Fit for Service and CVP.
- Ensure quality and consistent application of engineering processes and work flows.
Key accountabilities
- Custodian and ownership of Electrical long-term strategy for the Region ensuring alignment with overall GOO strategy.
- Custodian and owner of common electrical engineering processes and workflows e.g. Power system studies, single lines, RAM studies and FMEA analysis.
- Provide Electrical engineering support for Projects and TAR activities including electrical input into design reviews, HAZOPs and PHSSERs
- Custodian of electrical discipline related engineering tools e.g. Power studies, RAM modelling and FMEA analyse tools and databases etc.
- Continuously improve power protection systems to improve process safety and reliability of the power system.
- Identify improvements to electrical power systems e.g. Substation automation, equipment and software improvements for protection and control of power generating and distribution equip.
- Provide electrical review / verification to complex engineering work-packs . Review Electrical MoC Content.
- Defining long term opportunities for Electrical improvement and risk reduction
- Central point for co-ordination of electrical related processes e.g. FMEA's, SAFOF, RAM studies, Power system studies
- Coordinate with C&I interfaces with control, data acquisition and equipment interfaces with the primary control systems.
- Drive closure of F4S gaps against Electrical barrier requirements
- Monitor Electrical equipment performance and drive defect elimination
- Ensure appropriate electrical engineering codes, BP Practices and standards are adhered to when modifications are being made
- Participate in performance reviews when requested
- Works with R&M to manage electrical system obsolescence coordinating and planning with discipline engineering team as appropriate
- Conduct self-verification on key operations and engineering processes and procedures as required. Follows up on actions and observations from self-verification checks that are related to electrical engineering.
- Self-verify that electrical site procedures are being followed.
- Accountable for the performance of assigned equipment classes
- Responsible for the development of Specific Equipment Strategies where necessary and optimized PMs/PdMs
- Responsible for developing and updating the technical content of Specific Equipment Strategies/Plans in response to performance feedback from the field
- Responsible for participating in Defect Investigations on assigned equipment classes when requested.
- Responsible for performing reliability analysis on the assigned equipment using system trends, surveillance data and condition monitoring data, and establishing appropriate performance metrics

Job Requirements
Essential Education
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
Essential experience and job requirements
- A minimum 8 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry (Required)
- Egyptian Nationality ( Required)
