Careem Fleet Solutions will aim to enable access to an array of opportunities for our captain community e.g. subsidized finance for vehicle purchase, discounted insurance, car rentals, maintenance services etc., all through a simple & easy process.
This role is a unique opportunity to build the Fleet business in Egypt for Careem, which has the potential to grow to hundreds of millions of dollars, within a few years. The Fleet business is an integral part of Careem’s long term supply strategy and is aligned with our mission to simplify and improve the lives of our 1 M+ strong captain community. The role will entail the execution of the Fleet business model, which over time, has the potential to evolve into a full-fledged marketplace offering a range of services including asset financing, insurance, car maintenance services, rental etc. At scale, this business would have the potential to impact the lives of millions of customers and captains, on a daily basis, while creating an ecosystem of value added services that is unparalleled in the region. Solving this problem will help create financial empowerment and transform lives for millions of our captains.
The role will report into the Head of Fleet Solutions for Careem and will be based in Cairo, Egypt.
Responsibilities
- Translate the Fleet Solutions’ leadership’s vision into a clear, actionable strategy tailored to the context of Egypt
- Lead the identification, structuring and execution of an ecosystem of key partnerships in Egypt, which are critical for the Fleet business e.g. with Financial Institutions, Government entities, Auto sector entities etc.
- Support the development of a robust technology platform to enable the business, working closely with internal product / technology teams and any external partners (as applicable)
- Develop and execute a strong operating model for the business that enables the business to scale at a rapid pace in all cities of Egypt
- Work closely with the Country and Basecamp (HQ) operations teams to deliver against the supply objectives for the Fleet model
- Role model Careem’s values and behaviors and inspire teams
Job Requirements
What You’ll Need
- Distinctive operational strategy and implementation skills
- Ability to structure and negotiate complex deals, including with Financial institutions, Regulators etc.
- Strong understanding of the application of technology to deliver marketplace solutions
- Deep understanding of the regional context
- Entrepreneurial ability to deliver results in an unstructured environment
- Exceptional execution track record
- Strong track record of successful strategic partnerships
- Advanced analytical skills and problem-solving skills
Requirements:
- 10+ years of rich experience, with strong operations and financial services leadership exposure
- MBA preferred
- Experience with leasing, rental or finance products
