Company Description: (Business Overview)

Janssen NAF is the Marketing and Sales company managing commercial activities for the pharma branch of Johnson & Johnson. Janssen NAF has offices in Cairo, Egypt. They are responsible for the territory of NAF (Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, South-Sudan and Libya).

Our ultimate goal is to help people live healthy lives. We have produced and marketed many first-in-class prescription medications and are poised to serve the broad needs of the healthcare market – from patients to practitioners, from clinics to hospitals.

Aim of job:

Enable the commercial Janssen business to operate in a compliant way to deliver the best possible outcomes to the patient. The Quality Head will be responsible to handle the quality system across all the activities of the commercial Janssen business in NAF.

Main accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership in quality management for Janssen, including the commercial and distribution partners.
  • Handle the quality objectives for with the managing director and all relevant functions
  • Maintain the quality system state for all GxP area’s in the marketing company in compliance with GDP/GMP, applicable regulations and J&J requirements.
  • Handle the quality manual for NAF, including training across functions and implementation of SOP’s in the Marketing Company.
  • Handle the internal audit program for all area’s covered by the quality manual.
  • Host and coordinate audits and inspections from other J&J companies or health authorities
  • Assure proper quality management of products imported and distributed in the territory.
  • Provide experienced support on all quality topics across all departments and functions across the marketing company in NAF
  • Execute and handle all non-conformances, in-depth root cause investigations, CAPA’s, and change controls for activities and products related to the marketing company in NAF.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the Quality System using quality system performance information, in conjunction via periodic internal audits, deviation management, CAPA management and performance reviews.
  • Drive the Distributor and supplier management processes and CAPA’s. Coordinate and conduct audits.
  • Establish and maintain global and local relationships with partnering organizations and functions
  • Communicate with Health Authorities across the Gulf countries about quality related topics. Be key person for any serious quality issue.
  • Monitor quality system performance using business and compliance metrics and goals.
  • Be people manager for one quality associate in Riyadh, Saudi-Arabia
  • Contribute to the quality organization in Middle-East and Africa.

Main performance measures (Performance Goals)

  • Successful HA inspections
  • Successful J&J corporate audits
  • Timely closures of quality records (quality issues, CAPA’s, complaints)
  • Annual certification of the quality system

Job Requirements

Experience

  • (Education): Master’s degree in either Pharmacy, Biosciences, Engineering or equivalent field
  • (Years of Experience) : 8-12 years in pharmaceutical industry, at least 5 years in quality and compliance.

(Must Have technical Skills):

  • Quality & Compliance professional with strong pharmaceutical knowledge
  • Proven track record in managing / deploying a quality system in a manufacturing, distribution or commercial environment.
  • Proven experience with GDP and/or GMP quality-standards program.
  • Ability to proactively identify improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills (communication and listening skills).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. (English and Arabic)
  • Auditor experience, preferably certified
