Job Description
- Write instruction manuals and other documents in a way that will communicate complex, technical information in nontechnical language.
- Technical writer write, modify, edit, and publish technical articles in a language that can be understood by ordinary people, s/he must first be able to understand the technical aspects of what s/he writes
Job duties:
- Producing high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience
- Working with internal teams on product and documentation requirements
- Writing easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
- Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
- Create and maintain the information architecture
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, English Language Major, or equivalent, Computer Science bachelor degree.
- Engineering background is preferred
- Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information efficiently using text and illustrations.
- Portfolio showing a variety of documentation.
- Expert knowledge of documentation tools and documentation best practices.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to quickly learn a complex, highly configurable platform.
- Able to write for technical, semi-technical, and non-technical audiences.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant document design and best practices.
- Collaborate with teams distributed globally.
- Must be able to interview and communicate with remote teams effectively.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Enthusiasm for learning new things.
