Context
Within Oracle Consulting, our architects own the architectural design of Oracle solutions for prospective and existing customers. The same team also works on the development of ‘go to market solutions’ for market place. These are senior roles to act as the link between Oracle sales and delivery teams in the Oracle Consulting organisation.
The SCM Architect ensures solution architecture feasibility and mitigates risk by leveraging a network of subject matter experts in the various domains. The SCM Architect is also capable of proposing customer roadmaps to realise the proposed solution.
Supply chain activities cover everything from product development, sourcing, production, and logistics, as well as the information systems needed to coordinate these activities.
Currently a need exists for several experienced SCM Architects with a focus on functional process architecture and solution architecture across all disciplines of the SCM function including Logistics (OTM, GTM) WMS, Work Force and Inventory Management, Order Management, Manufacturing and Planning, Global Order Promising, as well as the ERP related domains such as product hub, innovation and product management, cost procurement and planning.
The SCM Architect will have a deep understanding of how to actively manage the supply chain activities to maximize customer value and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. It is a very exciting time in Oracle Consulting with our strong focus on delivery of cloud solutions using our highly advanced methods and tools across the EMEA region. Industry experience is highly valuable to us and existing Oracle application knowledge is desirable but not essential.
Scope of the Role
The SCM Architect is responsible for designing, developing and supporting business solutions leveraging the latest versions of Oracle SCM Cloud, including modules such as OTM, GTM, WMS, Inventory Management, Innovation Management and Manufacturing.
We are looking for architects and specialists capable of leading compelling solution development with clients on their Supply Chain strategies, architectures and roadmaps. The consultant must be able to work on board level and advise the clients on their transformation needs.

  • Reports to the EMEA SCM Leader
  • Works on client-billable and pre-sales assignments to lead the solution development
  • Works with sales and delivery to ensure solutions are both sellable and deliverable to a profit
  • Works on development of the OC TCM portfolio.

We are looking for architects capable of leading compelling solution development with clients on their cloud strategies, architectures and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • To act as a trusted advisor to senior clients:
    • To develop compelling, profitable and deliverable customer solutions with Oracle and customers
    • To be commercially astute when engaging and advising a client
    • To act as ambassadors for Oracle application solutions throughout a customer engagement
  • Work closely with client, sales, pre-sales and delivery staff to develop a robust architecture
  • Take full ownership of “best practice” of your competency area, covering the whole strategic footprint
  • Develop strong relationships with the product lines and in co-operation with the delivery management teams, advise on competency requirements
  • Take full accountability for the architectural solution of a pre-sales opportunity or project
  • Establish strong relationships with your counterparts in Oracle partners
  • Form and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in product development
  • Manage the re-use and knowledge management of your competency area
  • Provide sales awareness to the sales and delivery community within the Oracle Consulting
  • Engage profitably with your counterparts from other parts of the EMEA region
  • Engage in Industry and Domain forums and actively promote Oracle SCM.


Knowledge and Competency Requirements
Education:

  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Preferably holds a professional qualification (eg accountancy)

Job Requirements

Experience/Technical/Professional knowledge:

  • 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Over 10 years of demonstrable experience with SCM solutions at a consultancy or customer including supply chain management, logistics, business process analysis, systems analysis and design, and technical/functional solutions delivery
  • Strong awareness of some of the following application architectures.
  • Oracle product and solution knowledge is desirable but not essential:
    • Oracle Cloud Transportations Management
    • Oracle Cloud Global Trade Management
    • Oracle Cloud Supply Chain Management
    • Oracle Cloud Warehouse Management
    • Oracle Cloud Inventory Management
    • Oracle Cloud Product Management
    • Oracle Cloud Order Management
    • Oracle Cloud Manufacturing and Planning
    • Other similar application
  • Detailed functional knowledge of all the major business processes and associated functionality in the supply chain, logistics, projects or procurement domain
  • A creative and agile problem-solver
  • Excellent facilitation skills, including experience planning and participating in architecture and design sessions. Have been through at least 4 complete implementation cycles
  • Experience with interacting with third party resources, including offshore teams
  • Proven leadership in managing, governing and providing oversight of internal teams, 3rd party integrators, consultants and vendors through various initiatives
  • Strong team building skills, with ability to build quick and effective work rapport with distributed team members
  • Must be self-motivated in learning new concepts and willing to share knowledge and skills with other team members
  • Outspoken and passionate about delivering well designed solutions that exceed business objectives and drive business success for our customers
  • Must have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex solutions and ideas
  • Can demonstrate a strong awareness of the differences between cloud and on-premise solutions and their benefits
  • Commercially astute
  • Politically-aware
  • Deep, proven architecture experience of your competence area
  • Ability to present an argument: persuasive
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with strong presentation ability
  • Willing and able to travel (50%) for project work throughout the EMEA region, and has a European work permit
  • Fluent in English, other European language an advantage
