Job Description
- As the technical architect, you’ll be responsible for defining the overall structure of a program or system. You’ll act as project manager
- You can work in many different industries as a technical architect, from planning the structure of a large scale patient records database for the NHS, to the redesigning of a shop's e-commerce facility, to name a few.
- It’s likely you’ll be employed by an IT firm that specializes in the delivery of these kinds of projects to clients, or in house at a large organization with its own team. Depending on your responsibility and level in the company, you'll either oversee one part of a system's framework, or you could be in charge of the whole thing.
- A lot of your time will be spent liaising with people from different backgrounds, from management to designers to ensure the project meets the needs of the organization and the people who'll be using it.
- Identifying the organization’s needs
- Breaking down large scale projects into manageable chunks
- Agreeing plans with the client
- Explaining to designers and developers what's required and overseeing the progress
- Producing documents that monitor progress and ensure the quality of the project
- Study the project contract documents (time schedule, project design drawings, BOQ, etc.).
- Preparing and reviewing working shop drawings for projects & its facilities.
- Review sub-contractors’ shop drawings as well as outsourced shop drawings and coordinate their approval process with the project consultant.
- Preparing client invoices & variation orders.
- Interact with the Material Engineer regarding the material submittal and specifications.
- Undertake team briefings and inception activities to ensure all aspects of work are understood by all concerned parties.
- Reviews & issues letters and deals with consultant & its feedback for claims, variations.
- Prepare requests information for Weekly progress report.
- Work coordination with head office, other departments, local consultant, subcontractors & the clients including documentation.
- Study and prepare requests for information (RFIs) for all missing, unclear, conflicting or other technical matters that may arise during construction.
- Resources allocation on the master program.
- Identify project cost and time overrun risk to prepare a recovery plan.
- Supervising the preparation of As-built drawings.
- Preparing project close out documents.
- Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise… through Reviewing the tender DWGs & coordinate with all departments & Consultant.
- Participate in implementing technical office policies and procedures.
- Study the project contract documents (time schedule, project design drawings, BOQ etc...)
- Prepare shop drawing and coordination drawings (or composite drawing) based on project’s design drawings in accurate with quality standard.
- Coordinate with other trades to solve any conflict between (civil, mech, elect. etc.…)
- Update the shop drawing log before sending the shop drawing to consultant for approvals.
- Study and prepare requests for information (RFIs) for all missing, unclear, conflicting or other technical matters that may arise during construction.
- Coordinate with surveying engineer to provide him all the information about land coordinates and any site measurement required.
- Participate in solving / report any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise during construction to the Technical Office Manager for discussion and proper solve.
- Prepare as-built drawings at the end of the project and hand over to the project consultant.
- Prepare material submittal in conjunction with material to be and approved by the Consultant.
