Job Description
Overall Responsibilities
- We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager who will be in charge of building up Sara’s Organic Food Supply Chain operations. Said person will need to be a self starter interested in being part of a young dynamic organization and will be responsible for building his own supply team, as well as develop the processes and infrastructure necessary to support the development of a robust operations. Said person will also be in charge of developing the quality standard and auditing standards that partner farmers will need to meet as well as the procedures to follow to ensure that they are met.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Identify, develop and manage supply chain to meet SOF sales distribution needs
- Set up Contracts with farmers or independent owners to raise required crops to meet SOF sales demands
- Develop the contract farm operational framework as well as best practice and Standard Operating Procedures to be followed
- Formulate production plans for each contract and partner farm based on market information, physical feasibility and economic viability;
- Visit contracted farms regularly to monitor activities;
- Provide brief monthly reports to management on the progress of activities.
- Provide a comprehensive report on each farm at the end of the season to contracted farmers and management;
- Ensure Service Level Agreements are met and in compliance with defined agreements.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 10 years field experience in agriculture, preferably organic
- Experience in management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including leading and participating in formal presentations.
- Strong negotiation skills as well as the ability to cultivate leads, build relations, and close the deal.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Self starter, able to work under own management;
- Strong computer skills. Microsoft Office, other programs as it pertains to this position.
- Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic skills
