Job Description

  • Install, configure, administer and secure MS SQL Server databases using Windows.
  • Install, configure, administer and secure MS SQL Server VNext databases using Linux RH 7.X.
  • Assisting DBA teams in Database performance analysis, diagnosis and tuning (SQL Query Optimization, Storage and Network performance, CPU and Memory tuning, IO Load balancing etc.).
  • Participate in capacity planning, trend analysis, performance forecasting exercises and propose recommendations to meet the ongoing performance and scalability demands.
  • Successfully resolving SQL Server problems in conformance with SLAs, which involves in-depth knowledge of SQL Server architecture, connectivity, replication, SSIS, backup/restore
  • Perform SQL Server version upgrades, migrations and deployment changes to production databases.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and implement database related policies.
  • Create and support SQL Server clustering and replication (log shipping or database mirroring) for servers in several domains.
  • Create and manage multiple databases and assist in capacity planning.
  • Create and manage constraints and indexes.
  • Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL tuning of DML and the creation of stored procedures.
  • Identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention and resolve them.
  • Maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users).
  • Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends.
  • Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms.
  • Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors.
  • Designed and delivered high availability and disaster recovery technologies for the Database systems (management, monitoring and tuning).
  • Applying solutions and tools for Databases management systems to enhance performance and monitoring.
  • Work with geo-clustering technology for high availability and disaster recovery (manage, monitoring and maintaining).
  • Perform SQL Server version upgrade, migrations & deploy changes to production databases.
  • Keep tracking the new updates provided by Microsoft to keep systems up to date and healthy, and ensure it’s applicable with the company security and audit observations.
  • Designed and implemented comprehensive Backup plan and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Manage Microsoft SSIS packages, stored procedures, jobs, and utilize Server Side tracing to identify performance issues.
  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.

Job Requirements

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 - SQL 2016 Administration
  • High experience in high availability and disaster recovery administration Geocluster,
  • Microsoft cluster servers and Always On Availability Groups.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (MS SSIS) designing, coding and administration.
  • SQL Server clustering and HA technologies including mirroring, log shipping, failover cluster and various replication technologies.
  • MS Reporting server configuration and administration.
  • Performance Tuning & Capacity Monitoring.
  • Data Security, Backup & Recovery.
  • Standby/Failover Administration.
  • ETL (Extract-Transform-Load)
  • SQL server profiler for monitoring
