Job Description
Installation engineers have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
- Coordinating with other contractors or subcontractors to ensure the smooth completion of projects within time and budget constraints
- Performing maintenance on existing equipment or facilities to ensure they are operating correctly
- Consulting with clients to create design specifications for new systems
- Installing new electrical wiring, cable, or fiber optics as well as repairing existing systems
- Working with architects and engineers to ensure that designs meet code requirements for safety and efficiency
- Working with contractors or architects during construction to ensure that the plans are carried out accurately
- Evaluating existing systems to identify areas in need of repair or replacement
