Job Description

Reports to:

The Assistant Dean

Purpose:

The job holder will be managing and supervising the marketing and promotion of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean’s office and its nine departments, including but not limited to: handling events of the School, all production of online and printed material locally and internationally, publicizing for all of the school and departments events, lectures and seminars, building and managing the School's social media profiles, and handling media and website update.

Principal Accountabilities:

Graphic Design tasks:

  • Designing work for the School of HUSS's eight Departments along with design work related to the Dean's Office together with events funded by HUSS.

Design works include:

  • Programs, banners, posters, invitations, brochures, t-shirt designs, calendars, pens, coasters and mugs.
  • The School's website
  • The School's templates
  • PowerPoint Presentations.
  • Having complete autonomy over the Department of the Arts design work
  • Meeting clients (Faculty members, staff members and students) and brainstorm about their events
  • Collecting all data and information needed for design work
  • Creative thinking (ideas development)
  • Following up with AUC guidelines and sending drafts
  • Incorporate changes (developing design according to comments)
  • Sending final design with consideration of deadlines
  • Maintain Quality assurance of all marketing materials of the School following the AUC regulations and Editorial guidelines (Branding, style, fonts and approved sizes of marketing materials etc.)

Communications and Marketing tasks:

  • Manage the Marketing and Communications in the HUSS office
  • Marketing of the School's nine Departments and the Dean's Office through the incorporation of Communications and Marketing, both through printed and online media locally and internationally.
  • Supervise, organize and maintain all aspects of events, brainstorming and set-up for the Dean’s Office events, which includes booking halls, booking and setting up of promotional spaces, hiring videographers and photographers, handling all technical needs of the lecture/ performance set-up, catering and media relations etc. (Events such as the School of Humanities Awards Ceremony… etc.)
  • Managing online marketing through editing content on the School's website and updating it on SharePoint.
  • Guiding and managing all printed materials of the School, which includes but not limited to brochures, posters and banners etc.
  • Responsible for promoting the school using social networks in media and marketing
  • Supervise all advertising aspects of the School's Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter Accounts.
  • Managing the School's YouTube Channel.
  • Managing the School’s calendar by posting and updating all School's events, lectures and seminars to inform both AUC community and external community of the School's wide diverse activities as well as on mailing lists.
  • Updating the mailing list every semester.
  • Gathering, reviewing, and editing all School’s press releases and advisories.
  • Coordinating between the School and the University's office of Communications for handling all media related activities and media coverage for all department's events (T.V/ reporters and press) especially events with high profile V.I.P's (ambassadors, rulers of countries and councilors etc.)
  • Maintain any related budgets required for events, getting quotations and following up on payments.
  • Supervise the Quality assurance of all marketing materials of the School following the AUC regulations and Editorial guidelines (Branding, style, fonts and approved sizes of marketing materials etc.)
  • Coordinate the photography of the HUSS Dean’s office main events “ex. HUSS Awards.
  • Assist the Dean in Marketing related meetings and agreements.
  • Attending and covering HUSS events, as well as being the point of contact (POC) for the Dean’s office in regard to events.

Job Requirements

Requirements:
Minimum education requirement: University Degree

Experience: Minimum nine years of previous experience
Experience in SAP system, Banner and Documentum is an asset
