Job Description
The Production Section Head is responsible for the smooth operation of the daily production in the factory as well as ensuring that the productivities are achieved and the production plan is implemented with good quality standards.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Receiving the production plan from Planning and implementing the plan on the shop floor
- Managing the daily problems with workers as well allocating them in the different processes
- Ensuring that the workers are properly trained and arranging for trainings to increase and improve their skills
- Ensuring that the quality standards are maintained and the workers are aware of them and implementing them
- Ensuring that all finished goods ready for delivery are based on the customers quality standards and ensuring that they are packed and loaded in a manner that the customer will receive them with no defects
- Ensuring that the machines are properly maintained and that all their records including stoppages, change of consumables, maintenance activities, machine downtime are documented
- Coordinating with planning in case of problems arising to change the production plan based on priorities
- Continuous follow up with planning about the production
- Analyzing the root causes of reduction in productivities and scrap and responsible for implementing the corrective actions to avoid them as well as document these plans and report their follow up
- Coordinate with planning the daily production reports with analysis of productivities and scrap
- Setting the BOM in coordination with Supply Chain and reporting the efficiency and preference of consumables
- Coordinating with Maintenance the machine maintenance schedule in order to avoid delays
- Daily follow-up with planning about the production, productivity and stoppages of each machine and analyzing them as well as setting projects to improve them
- Having the flexibility and decision making abilities to deal with problems of workers, machines or urgent customer needs
- Continuous development and improvement projects set for the production process
- Monthly report of the improvement projects as well as problems encountered on shop floor and action required from associated department as well as other departments
- Operation analysis and setting improvement projects
- Setting up Visuals with planning on the shop floor to portray productivities, scrap, etc
- Encouraging and improving the efficiency and skills of workers as well as developing them
- Implementing lean manufacturing concepts on the shop floor
