Job Description
- Design & develop school based programs that are predominantly preventative & pro-active and also responsive to social, emotional & cognitive needs that impinge on student welfare & performance.
- Support and promote the mental health and emotional well-being of the students & staff in the College.
- Provide ongoing support to Heads of Schools, pastoral care leaders, tutors, teachers and students.
- Collaborate with members of the Individual Needs faculty and pastoral leadership teams, to provide formal and informal assessments of students and make recommendations for appropriate interventions to meet the student’s needs
- Accurately and appropriately use assessment procedures for determining and structuring individual or group counselling and other support services
- Provide individual or group counselling and/or psychological support to students with identified concerns and needs
- Contribute to the development training of staff and review of policies and the College’s behavior management & pastoral care policies, create referral systems that show clear policy and procedure for how students access the GC support systems
- Maintain accurate records of information and documentation related to students requiring academic, personal, social, emotional and mental health support
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in area appropriate to counselling
- Experienced as a counsellor who has demonstrated outstanding practice within a school or college.
- Excellent interpersonal, Administrative skills and ability to work in a team work.
- Ability to do meetings, presentations and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to deal with students and parents with passion and patience
