Job Description
- Operates dynamic positioning system and Monitors vessel operations as relative to vessel position, heading and course.
- Maintain logs of dynamic positioning operation.
- Change operational mode between DP to joystick to normal control and vice versa.
- Operate DP reference system and setting its components as per operation demand).
- Plan of DP operation in depth.
- Communicate with all relevant crew personnel and/or external personnel to maintain safe DP operations.
- Follow DP Department recommendations / memos.
- Perform regular inspections of DP equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions and defects to the Chief Mate, Master and DP department head.
- Monitor DP system alarms.
- Monitor engine room alarms and informative signals.
- Fully responsible for DP operation during any tests; FMEA trials; annual DP audit; client inspections etc.
