Job Description

  • To apply specialised legal qualifications in the handling of routine legal matters, involving research, legal document preparation and correspondence related to litigation, contracts, claims handling, and intellectual property.
  • To provide legal support and assistance to both the Legal Department and to clients in the Air Arabia Group which the Legal Department advises on a wide variety of matters.

Job Duties:

  • Draft and review commercial agreements, to ensure that the company’s best contractual and commercial position is attained.
  • Draft, review and proof-read legal documents and correspondence.
  • To produce powers of attorney necessary for company outstation management and maintain the Legal Department’s power of attorney register.
  • Undertake general legal research and investigation and prepare reports on legal topics and developments of use or interest to the Company.
  • Maintain the Legal Department’s library and ensure legal manuals and text books are kept up-to-date as appropriate. Identify and recommend for procurement the necessary legal reference materials.
  • Investigate, research and report on the facts and legal issues in various passenger and cargo claims with a view to protecting and securing the legal position of the company.
  • Maintain and keep up-to-date the Legal Department’s trademark registration database and liaise with outside counsel on trademark matters under the direction of Legal Support Service Manager.
  • Provide support and assistance to Legal Support Services Manager in litigation-related activities.
  • Manage projects assigned from time to time, which will require planning and organizing on both a short-term and long-term basis depending on project requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior management across the company as well as local/ international law firms and local/ international government departments in order to achieve on going objectives as well as effectively complete projects handled from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Professional qualification such as Legal Executive, Company Secretary, Paralegal or Certified Legal Assistant with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a corporate in-house legal department or law firm.

  • Must be flexible in working hours when necessary.
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Strong legal research and writing
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to complete tasks under time pressures to meet deadline
