Job Description

Nature of job impact:

  • Carries responsibility for entering the Purchase requisition (whether it is a stock-order or a back-order) on Oracle system - after receiving the signed requisition from the IT Sales, Retail or Distribution department and after comparing the stock on-hand and the quantity requested and getting the Purchasing Manager's approval.
  • Carries responsibility for contacting the Supplier of the product requested and the freight forwarder (depending on the lead time, condition, and price)
  • Carries responsibility for negotiate the payment term with the supplier and delivery method (supplier will deliver the order or we will send a car to collect it)
  • Handles the deals with the Insurance Company if the condition is not CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight)
  • Carries responsibility for following-up on the shipment until it arrives to Egypt and provides the Clearance department with the legal documents needed to send the shipment to the Warehouse
  • Carries responsibility for contacting the Warehouse with the arrival date and all the details of the shipment
  • Receives the GR (Goods Received) report from the Warehouse, which states the shipment's condition and determines whether to contact the supplier (is shipment's condition is CIF) or the insurance company (in case of damaged goods)
  • Provides the Finance department with the supplier invoice and shipment checklist, which contains all the information regarding the shipment (the PO number, condition, sea or air, cost of shipment, insurance and freight)
  • Performs other related duties
