Job Description

The software product manager position involves assessing customer needs, as well as performing market research and analyses and suggesting new features to develop for existing products or identifying new software products that will be acceptable to customers and prospects. His/her duties also include finding innovative solutions for the broader market, and must enjoy spending time with clients so as to understand their challenges.

Their role also includes working with marketing communications to define the marketing strategies to use, helping them understand the key benefits, target customer and product positioning.

To be effective on this job, the manager must be technical savvy and possess a unique blend of business knowledge and skills; a big-picture vision, as well as the passion to make that vision a reality.

The individual must also have a strong software background, especially in the cloud integration/middleware space and the on premise; and must be able to share ideas And information with other departments in the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze various market segments and collaborate with leadership to choose the best ones to pursue.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders on the creation of positioning for your products.
  • Create user stories for current and future products based on the market’s problems.
  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from products ideas to prototyping and testing new features/products and ideas.
  • Know why we are winning and losing in the market, and drive changes to our product and processes to create improvement.
  • Be aware of market competition, and be able to develop strategies and tactics to stay ahead of the game.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of software product management, marketing, development, or sales experience.
  • Tech savvy and passionate about building products.
  • Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making.
  • Proficient in productivity applications.
  • Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools.
  • Metrics-driven: Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.
  • Experience with best practice agile scrum development and lean startup principles.
  • Curious and comfortable holding professional conversations with our target clients and users.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties.
  • Subject matter expert/industry experience a strong plus.
  • This position requires domestic and international travel up to 25 percent.
