Job Summary:
- Designs the functionality, look and feel of web / computer application interfaces that produce efficient, enhanced and streamlined human-application interactions resulting in high rates of user satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design efficient, re-usable interfaces for web sites and applications. Provide technical expertise in all areas of UX Design.
- Create and document all aspects of interface requirements, user needs and information architecture through interface design, flow charts, scenarios, wire framing, story boarding, rough layouts, site maps, mock-ups and prototyping.
- Create clickable prototypes by gathering and conducting user research from internal / external teams and clients.
- Translate business requirements into an application and suitable front-end interfaces by implementing the best strategy to ensure design meets performance, usability, reliability, and scalability standards.
- Plan usability testing sessions and deliver artifacts for testing. Use user insight, analytics, best practices and competitor analysis to inform design decisions.
- Research and share industry trends. Drive and document design standards and patterns across product portfolio.
- Actively participate in the definition of both functional and non-functional requirements of a system and define the UX strategy and standards.
- Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts; use innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time; demonstrate UX ideas with rough sketches and use computer software to create electronic versions of designs.
- Negotiate trade-offs of design considerations with product management and development teams.
- Contribute to and enforce the technology / design policies and processes that produce predictable, efficient development of world-class interfaces. tools
- Monitor task queues and issue-logs to ensure on-time completion of tasks and resolution of issues.
- Contribute to meeting project and product development goals on-time and on-budget.
- Delivers design work on programs of any size with minimal oversight.
- Complete special projects and assignments as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Solid hands on experience in the following languages/tools/environments:
- Graphic Design tools
- Adobe Photoshop
- Illustrator
- Wireframe tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing UX projects from conceptualization to final user acceptance.
- Strong knowledge of User-Centered design principles.
- Sound knowledge of web and mobile technologies.
- Experience working with responsive interfaces, and mobile first architectures.
- Experience building standards compliant designs.
- Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality.
- Knowledge and experience in the web development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Extremely detailed oriented and organized.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on user experience design experience or equivalent.
